Navigating Grief

I had the privilege of joining Mark on the Soul Sense podcast to share about my journey through grief and the lessons God has taught me along the way. Losing my father unexpectedly as a young teenager was a defining moment that set me on a path I never could have imagined. This path led me to pursue psychology and theology, become an ordained Associate Pastor, and dedicate over a decade to walking alongside others through their darkest seasons. It's what ultimately inspired me to write "Overcoming the Overcast: Navigating the Storms of Grief with God," a book born from my own heartbreak and the conviction that God's presence is constant, even when the clouds of grief make it impossible to see or feel Him.

During our conversation, I opened up about how my experiences with loss, blended family challenges, and infertility have shaped both my ministry and my understanding of how God meets us in our pain. We discussed the theological truth that has become central to my work: the Son of God is always shining above the overcast, even when we can't perceive His light through the storm. I shared practical wisdom from my years of counseling and pastoral care, emphasizing that grief isn't a problem to be solved but a journey to be navigated with hope as our guide. If you're walking through a season of loss or supporting someone who is, I pray this conversation reminds you that God doesn't ask us to pretend the pain isn't real. He invites us to bring it honestly before Him and discover that His healing presence is already there, working even in the darkest clouds.
